First LEAP article published

The first LEAP article is out! A child’s jawbone discovered years ago in the Grotte de On is helping researchers from LEAP tell a new story about prehistoric life in Belgium.

Using micro-CT scans, radiocarbon dating, and isotope analyses, scientists have determined the child’s age, diet, and where they may have grown up. These discoveries help to understand how people adapted to sudden climate changes in the past and why this history still matters today. The past has more to tell us than we think.

The article on Grotte de On is available in the 2025 issue of the Bulletin de la Société Spéléologique de Namur at this link
